AI presents numerous opportunities, but making the right choices is essential. We are looking to develop AI in Animana to help make work more transparent, user-friendly, and effective, all while prioritising safety and responsibility. If you're interested, consider registering as a beta test clinic and collaborating with us on this journey.

Stock

Effective stock management is crucial, yet it can often be cumbersome and time-consuming. We are currently redesigning this functionality to improve it significantly. With input from our users, we are exploring ways to make stock management smarter, simpler, and more efficient, ensuring it aligns better with daily work practices.

General consult improvements

We are updating the consultation page to enhance the user experience. This includes a new, intuitive date picker and the automatic saving of changes—an improvement that many users have requested. These changes are just the first step in a series of enhancements we have planned for this feature.

Patient file improvements

The patient file is undergoing a comprehensive overhaul. We are establishing a clear structure and presentation of information to help you work more efficiently. Since the file is essential to your practice, we will introduce the changes in phases throughout 2025. This approach is carefully designed to ensure you can continue working without interruptions.

Recent highlights

Secure MyIDEXX Login ecosystem

Logging in and out of different systems multiple times a day can be cumbersome. However, with Single Sign-On (SSO), you can access multiple linked solutions using just one secure login. This enhancement provides greater convenience and security. Starting July 1, SSO will be the sole method for logging in.

Improved internal messaging

The message page has been updated and expanded. In addition to a new look and feel, you can now search by subject and filter messages by date, sender, and category. You can also select and delete multiple messages at once or mark them as read or unread. Additionally, when replying to a message, you can easily search for users and groups.

Search improvements

Searching has become clearer. When searching using special client and patient notation, you can now choose whether to display or hide inactive records. This long-awaited improvement allows you to find the right data more quickly, even when dealing with a busy patient list.

  • Improved: Processing digital bank statements - The matching process for uploading digital bank statements in the CAMT053 format has improved.

April releases

  • MyIDEXX Updates - We have updated the login page as part of our transition to the more secure MyIDEXX login system. Users who wish to log in with Animana credentials must click a button to reveal the login fields. Please note that starting July 1st, all users must log in using their MyIDEXX credentials.
  • Improved: General ledger options - It is now possible to set a ledger to be selected by default when booking a cash withdrawal.
  • Improved: Automatic Improved pagination - Older entries in the client file will now display automatically as you scroll.
  • Improved: General consultation - Based on your feedback, we have adjusted the consultation form fields to make more information visible on the screen.
  • Improved: Agenda time indication - Based on your feedback, we have updated the current time display in the agenda to be more subtle and only show when viewing the current day.
  • Improved: Insurance company change - Petsure has been renamed to Petgevity. You can find this option in the dropdown menu for “insurance” in the Patient Data tab. 

March releases

  • New: Zoetis diagnostics integration - We are pleased to announce a fully integrated connection with Zoetis diagnostics equipment, allowing you to order tests and receive results directly within the patient file. To set up this integration, please contact Zoetis.
  • New: PETtrac, Frank, and Corinium now available as insurance companies - PETtrac, Frank, and Corinium can now be selected from the patient data screen, and electronic claims can be submitted via Animana eClaims.
  • New: Agenda current time indicator - A much-asked-for feature! It's now easier than ever to see the current time in relation to your appointments. This new visual indicator updates in real time to ensure you quickly get the information you need.

February releases

  • Improved general consult - We’ve updated this page with a new design and usability improvements, including a new date-picker and a highly requested autosave feature, which we plan to introduce in more areas of Animana.

January releases

  • Improved: Search added to internal messaging - Further to last version’s update, we've now added the ability to search messages by subject.
  • Improved: Dental workflow - Dental records are now better customised for cats and rabbits.
  • New: Send more client data to SmartFlow - You can now choose to send client data optionally, including address and e-mail.
  • Improved: Better visibility of ‘sticky’ custom protocols - Client file custom protocols with the setting “show on top” enabled are now more apparent.
  • Improved: Advanced search revisions - When performing client searches, using the "client,,patient" notation, you can now toggle to hide/show inactive patients.
  • New: Lloyds Pet Insurance is now available as an insurance company - Lloyds Pet Insurance is now selectable from the patient data screen, and electronic claims can be submitted via Animana eClaims.
  • Improved: Log out from Animana shortcut key changed - Last release we added a shortcut key to log out of Animana. We’ve revised the shortcut to CTRL+Alt+L (Windows) or CTRL+⌥+L (Mac) for compatibility reasons.
  • New: Added Pakistan to the country drop-down list - Pakistan is now an option when creating a new contact or adding/editing addresses in Client Data.
