We’re researching how practices communicate with pet owners, from reminders and follow-ups through to newsletters and marketing campaigns. Our goal is to make these interactions smoother, more automated, and less time-consuming, so your team can focus more on pet care and less on admin. Supporting smooth patient and client navigation is essential in veterinary practice, yet the current workflow can often be time-consuming and unintuitive. We're redesigning this functionality to better meet the needs of veterinary professionals. With input from users in the field, we’re working to make navigation smarter, simpler, and more aligned with the realities of daily clinical workflows. Effective stock management is crucial, yet it can often be cumbersome and time-consuming. We are currently redesigning this functionality to significantly improve it. With input from our users, we are exploring ways to make stock management smarter, simpler, and more efficient, ensuring it aligns better with daily work practices.

Patient file improvements
The patient file is undergoing a comprehensive overhaul. We are establishing a clear structure and presentation of information to help you work more efficiently. Since the file is essential to your practice, we will introduce the changes in phases throughout 2025. This approach is carefully designed to ensure you can continue working without interruptions.

General consult improvements
We have updated the consultation page to enhance the user experience. This includes a new, intuitive date picker and the automatic saving of changes—an improvement that many users have requested. These changes are just the first step in a series of enhancements we have planned for this feature.
Improved internal messaging
The message page has been updated and expanded. In addition to a new look and feel, you can now search by subject and filter messages by date, sender, and category. You can also select and delete multiple messages at once or mark them as read or unread. Additionally, when replying to a message, you can easily search for users and groups.
Secure MyIDEXX Login ecosystem
Logging in and out of different systems multiple times a day can be cumbersome. However, with Single Sign-On (SSO), you can access multiple linked solutions using just one secure login. This enhancement provides greater convenience and security.

March releases
- Improved: Subproducts and manual stock orders - Subproducts are no longer selectable when adding products to stock manually. This helps prevent incorrect ordering and ensures stock is always managed through parent products. This applies to both new orders and adding products to existing orders.
- Stock List improvements:
- Status column in Stock count report - You can now see a Status column in the Stock count report, giving clearer confirmation that your filter selections are reflected correctly in the results.
- Stock export reports - Export options are now available directly on the stock list page, allowing you to see your filtered products before exporting. This helps you confirm that your filters are correct and avoid exporting without a preview.
- Stock count and batches report - You can now export stock quantities with batch details, including batch numbers, quantities, and expiry dates, all in one place. This report is available from Extra > Stock > Stock list > Export and helps you review stock, batches, and expiries more efficiently.
- Batch handling when crediting deleted batches - Animana now automatically restores deleted batches when creating credit invoices, ensuring accurate stock history and correct in-stock totals.
- New: Reminder count visibility - In the agenda’s ‘list view’, you can now see how many reminders were sent for each appointment, making it easier to determine when further follow-up is needed.
- New: Appointments for caretakers - You can now create appointments for caretakers as well as owners. The appointment screen now displays both owned and cared-for patients, ensuring reminders are sent to the correct contact.
- New: Extra support for more insurance companies - Revolut Pet Insurance and Covéa Insurance can now be selected from the patient data screen, and electronic claims can be submitted via Animana eClaims.
- New: Internal message and task instant notifications - You can now receive on-screen notifications when new messages or assigned tasks arrive. These alerts appear in the top right corner and help you stay up to date without interrupting your workflow. You can adjust these settings under Settings > User settings > Push notifications.
- New: Automated appointment reminders - You can now send appointment reminders automatically using reminder rules. This helps reduce no-shows, improve patient compliance, and eliminate the need for staff to manually send reminders daily.
- New: Bulk invoice download - You can now select multiple invoices from the search results page and download up to 100 at once in a single zip file, making it easier to manage compliance and external platform uploads.
- Stock List improvements - We’ve continued to refine the Stock List, including order amount explanations and cleaner handling of service products. You’ll also notice better column sorting, easier access to product details, improved visibility in wastage reports, and better exports. For full details, check the pop-up on the Stock List page.
February releases
- New: Species shown in appointment list - You can now see the patient species directly in the appointment overview, making it easier to choose the right reminder templates for feline, canine or other patients. This appears automatically when a patient is linked.
- New: Appointment type filter - You can now filter Agenda appointments by appointment type, making it easier to review bookings and focus on specific visit categories. This update improves visibility when preparing reminders and managing daily schedules.
- New: Cancelled appointment status: You can now mark appointments as cancelled, helping you distinguish outcomes more clearly and improve reporting and client follow-ups. This status is available in the Appointment Export report.
- Improved: Product deletion changes: When you delete a product with associated history (such as invoices, batches, or orders), the product will now be deactivated rather than permanently removed. This change allows you to reactivate the product at any time while retaining access to its complete history.
January releases
- Stock List improvements, shaped by your feedback, including:
- Manual order quantities: You can now overwrite the suggested order amount, giving you greater control and the ability to reach discount thresholds. To do this, simply click on the order amount and edit the value. The updated amount will display an asterisk to indicate that it has been manually changed. If you want to revert to the suggested value, just delete your manual input.
- Search by barcode: You can now search for products by barcode or supplier code, in addition to product name and product code, making product lookups faster.
- Improved: More financial insights - In the Monthly Accounts > Overview Clients report, you can now: create a report of monthly account holders, view who referred a client in the "Client Referred By" report, and exports will now include additional data such as client ID, status (active), and referral source (where applicable).
